WISH-TV’s Brooke Martin visits Steve Harvey Show

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – 24-Hour News 8’s Brooke Martin had the chance to take part in the baby shower extravaganza for the Steve Harvey Show.

The Steve Harvey Show is celebrating moms, or more specifically moms-to-be in a very special way for Friday’s show. But, there was one prerequisite to being part of Steve Harvey’s baby shower audience, guests had to be pregnant and Martin certainly fit the qualifications.

The guest of honor for the show was Steve’s daughter, Karli, who is due in June.

Martin had the opportunity to speak with her one-on-one, and just as they started talking Harvey joined in on the conversation.

Martin asked him if he thought being a grandparent was better than being a parent.

“Oh absolutely, I have no responsibility at all. That’s what grandmas are for, yeah,” Harvey said.

And, he couldn’t leave without sharing some wisdom about boys when it comes to potty training.

“He watches his dad and then he sees in and there are too many different moves, and the boy got to learn two different moves and then there’s a shake move that’s invoked, and then there’s a drain move that’s involved, and it’s just too much. Shaking and draining is a tough adjustment for a boy, a lot of men never master it; just look at it when they come out of the bathroom,” Harvey said.

Martin said a lot of presents were given to the moms in the audience, but she couldn’t accept the presents because of industry rules. But, she said being part of the audience was a lot of fun.

The Steve Harvey baby show airs on WISH-TV Friday at 3 p.m.
