IMS hosts Rev red carpet, dinner for a good cause

SPEEDWAY, Ind. (WISH) — Chefs and IndyCar drivers came together Saturday for a good cause.

More than 60 chefs from the best Indy restaurants gathered at Indianapolis Motor Speedway for Rev, a fundraising dinner.

Celebrity chefs Vic Vegand and Malcolm Mitchell were also on hand for the fun.

Guests dined on driver-inspired cuisine, and all money raised from the sold-out event will go to Indiana University Health statewide trauma programs, including medical services for drivers and patrons at IU Health Emergency Medical Center at the speedway.

James Hinchcliffe survived a dangerous wreck during Indy 500 practice last year. He credits the trauma center at IU Methodist for saving his life.

Organizers said they’ve raised $400,000 for statewide trauma programs since the event began in 2014.
