ISUPD arrests student on 5 counts of voyeurism that occurred on campus

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – A 23-year-old was arrested on Friday on five counts of voyeurism that officials report happened on the campus of Indiana State University.

This case began when the ISUPD Assistant Chief received a ‘Silent Witness Form Submission’ on April 30 about a spy camera in the locker room of the girls’ volleyball team. The Silent Witness Form Submission is located on the Indiana State University’s Public Safety website

That email stated the videos taken had been uploaded to a website by the user name of ‘dabadge.’

Other videos that were uploaded by that username were identified in locations like the Student Rec Center swimming pool and hot tub area, walkways throughout campus, the John T. Myers Technology Building, Science Building classrooms, an ISU employee’s office, as well as the volleyball locker room.

It was determined that video taken inside the employee’s office was taken between April and May of 2015. But video posted on April 22, 2016 was of a female entering HMSU and allowed officials to review surveillance video.

On that surveillance video, ISUPD was able to find the male suspect they believed to be taking the video. Officials were then able to identify that suspect as Nick Pledger and then check the Indiana State University’s Student Directory to find where he lived.

Officials executed a search warrant on May 6 and took Pledger into custody. They also interviewed Pledger’s wife, who was a former volleyball player at ISU. She told them she had given him the code to the locker room on one occasion.

Pledger was in court on Monday morning in Division 1. He is set to be back in court on Thursday.
