IMPD asks community to help find alleged murder suspect

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is asking the public to help find 21-year-old Devion Tooson of Indianapolis, an alleged murder suspect.

Police said Tooson is wanted for the fatal shooting of 20-year-old Michael Banyard.

On April 23, police said they were sent to the 9000 block of East 39th Street on a report of a person shot. They said when they arrived they found Banyard outside and unresponsive, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead by EMS personnel.

Officials said Banyard and Tooson were in a dispute that resulted in Tooson allegedly shooting and killing Banyard outside. The suspect then fled the scene.

Tooson is described as a black male, 5’6″ tall and weighs approximately 135 pounds. Police said the suspect should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
