Inside the home of former drug kingpin Michael Fabini

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) A former drug kingpin’s mansion is on the market.

Michael Fabini, brother of NFL lineman Jason Fabini, is behind bars serving a 14-year prison sentence, because of this his former home at 6619 Cherry Hill Parkway is in the hands of the U.S. Marshals, and they’re ready to make a deal.

“To build this house today, you’d have a million and a half into it. It’s a good deal,” RE/MAX Results Realtor Tom Haggarty said.

The home is listed at $649,900.

“All hardwood floors throughout the property. All top-notch. Inlaid wood, large kitchen, industrial strength kitchen,” Haggarty said.

Not to mention eight bathrooms, six bedrooms, including a massive master suite with walk-in sauna and a closet you could play basketball in, and an over-the-top home theater that seats 12, a handful of wet bars, five furnaces, industrial generator, a pool house and an outdoor paradise.

“He’s updated everything,” Haggarty said.

The heartbeat of the home is the control center on the third floor. Haggarty said when Fabini updated the home after he bought it in 2007, he got everything top-notch, including the security system. Nearly every door has a passcode lock.

“Five or six cameras on the outside alone,” Haggarty said. “Who knows what he had on the inside that I think has been removed, but it was all high-dollar equipment. The best you could probably buy at the time.”

Haggarty said the home does need some work. The theater sustained water damage and the security system needs IT work to get it back up and running, but it’s not waning the interest of people interested in the kingpin’s former home.

“Eight showings already and my phone is ringing in my pocket now,” Haggarty said.

The home is only being shown to people with a pre-approval letter and proof of funds.

The proceeds from the home will be used to repay the government for maintaining and selling the property, unpaid property taxes, paying off the existing mortgage, and homeowner association fees. The remainder of the money will go back to the government.

Fabini was arrested in December of 2012. Police raided nine locations including the Cherry Hill home and another property at 5603 Kohard Place. Fabini, along with two other men, were accused of operating a marijuana distribution operation out of the Kohard Place home from October 2009 to November of 2011. In November 2014, Fabini pleaded guilty to two charges: conspiring to distribute and possess with intent to distribute marijuana along with selling drugs for money. As part of the plea deal, 42 of the 44 charges Fabini initially faced were dismissed. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison.
