Police: Man attempts to set home on fire, threatens neighbor with ax

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Police say a man attempted to set his home on fire and threatened a neighbor with an ax.

Deputies said they were sent to the 300 block of Dawson Street after reports of a disturbance. They said when they arrived on scene, they found Kenneth Alltop, Jr., 41, had attempted to set his home on fire and had threatened a neighbor with an ax.

Police said Alltop complained of chest pain and was taken to Columbus Regional Hospital. He was evaluated and released before heading to the Bartholomew County Jail.

He faces preliminary charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon. As of Thursday afternoon, he remains in jail on a $15,000 bond.
