5 Things to know about the weekend forecast

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – As you kick-off your weekend, here are some things to know about the forecast.

1) Mild temperatures will begin Saturday. We should be dry for a majority of the Mini Marathon Saturday morning. However, we can’t rule out few showers near the end of the race late Saturday morning. Race temperatures will start off in the upper 50s, but surge into the 70s by late morning.

2) A cold front will bring a round of showers and storms to the southern half of the state Saturday afternoon and evening.

3) There is a slight risk for severe storms for the southern third of the state, Saturday afternoon. The main concern will be large hail and damaging winds.

4) Frontal system will stall out just to our south for Mother’s Day, leaving a chance for a spotty shower. Most of the day will be dry and cooler, with highs in the mid 60s.

5) Unsettled pattern over the next several days, with multiple rain and storm chances from Monday through Thursday. Highs should remain above average, ranging in the low to mid 70s for much of the week.
