Former Colt Jack Trudeau sentenced for OWI, intimidation charges

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Former Indianapolis Colt, Jack Trudeau was sentenced Monday for driving drunk and Intimidation.

He entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to a year of probation. His license was also suspended for 90 days.

According to a spokesman for the Zionsville Police Department, 52-year-old Jack Trudeau was pulled over in July, 2015 in Boone County in a Chevy Malibu.

This was after the police officer observed the Malibu run a stop light and the officer attempted to pull over the vehicle for a quarter of a mile without success. It took Trudeau multiple attempts to come to a complete stop.

According to police documents, the officer smelled alcohol during the traffic stop. When Trudeau attempted a breathalyzer exam, he sucked in air, instead of blowing into the machine. The sample from the exam registered .31 on the device. When the Malibu was being towed, an open car of beer was found in the glove box.

The probable cause affidavit stated that Trudeau refused a blood draw at the local hospital and repeatedly verbally abused police officers.

Trudeau played for the Colts from 1986-1993.
