1 taken into custody in TH after morning foot pursuit

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WISH) – Officials report that after a warrant was obtained, one white male was taken into police custody at a home on South 14th Street near Ohio Street.

Terre Haute Police officers as well as Indiana State Police were on scene at 130 South 14th Street after a Wednesday morning foot pursuit.

The incident began when officers got a call about a suspicious person in the area. When the officer made contact with the suspect, the officer was given permission to search the suspect. A large knife was found and that is when the suspect, described as a white male, took off on foot.

Witnesses told police that the male suspect went into the house in the 100 block of South 14th Street. Officials said they have reason to believe this suspect is connected to recent burglaries in the area.

After a couple of hours and after a warrant was obtained, a white male was brought out of the house and put into a THPD squad car. That suspect has been identified as 33-year-old Alcie Wilson.
