2 arrested in connection with ‘purse snatching’ case in Terre Haute

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – The Terre Haute Police Department says two arrests have been made in connection with a case involving the theft of purses in parking lots, where the crimes were all caught on camera.

THPD reported in April that on three different occasions a car would drive up to women unloading their shopping carts and snatch their purses. Those incidents happened on April 14, 18 and 20 at different locations.

On Tuesday, warrants were issued for the arrest of Edward Rosa, 36 of Terre Haute, and Exie Myles, 32 of Terre Haute. Detectives with THPD located and arrested both around 3:30 p.m. in the 300 block of North 18th Street.

Rosa and Myles are being charged with robbery resulting in serious bodily injury, theft and fraud. Both were taken to the Vigo County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday morning.

THPD is asking anyone with additional information about these cases to call at 812-238-1661.
