Columbus police investigating armed robbery at Village Pantry

COLUMBUS, Ind. (WISH) – Columbus police are investigating an armed robbery early Wednesday morning.

Detectives said the incident happened at Village Pantry located in the 3100 block of Washington Street around 2:30 a.m.

Police said a white male in his 20s, entered the store and approached an employee who was working. They said at one point, the suspect pointed a knife at the employee, while demanding money. The suspect then fled the store running south from the Village Pantry with an undisclosed amount of cash.

No one was injured.

The suspect during the robbery is described as:

  • Approximately 5’6″
  • Wore dark clothing along with white tennis shoes
  • Wore a red bandana covering his face
