Cost of travel around US on the rise, IN city named best to retire

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The cost of getting around the United States is on the rise, and an Indiana city is named one of the best to spend your golden years.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the past year the cost of travel by bus, train, subway and ferry rose by 4 percent.

A year earlier, these costs were falling at a 3 percent rate.

The price of airline tickets are also back on the rise after declining steadily from the summer of 2014 to early 2016.

Kiplinger’s Magazine said the home to Indiana University offers learning programs, day trips and symposiums for retirees. The Myriad sporting events and concerts compensate for the cold winters.
