INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – 24-Hour News 8’s Daily Daly with racing analyst Derek Daly is looking at the carmaker matchup for the Indianapolis 500.
“So we still have our manufacture battle between Honda and Chevrolet. The first engine was fired during the first practice Tuesday. When the Andretti team put four of it’s five cars in the top five of the speed charts at almost 229 miles per hour. Honda teams said Chevy teams are sand bagging. Hmmm, I never quite knew what that term meant, but if it means they are hiding something when will they show their full hand, then maybe the Honda versus Chevrolet battle is really starting to heat up? Maybe Chevy doesn’t really have the advantage? Maybe Honda does? Maybe the Andretti team does? Does all of this mean that Marco Andretti might have his best opportunity to win at the 100th running of the great race. Whatever way you look at it, in the year of great anniversaries it looks like we have Japan versus America again,” Daly said.
