INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD says two children were sent to the hospital Wednesday morning after a serious crash near downtown.

The crash happened at New York Street and Bradley Avenue.

Police said one car that had a male and two children was driving down New York Street and about to turn left onto Bradley Avenue. As the car was about to turn left, a vehicle drove from behind and then drove to the left side and hit the car, pushing it onto the sidewalk causing it to flip onto its roof.

The driver of the second vehicle fled the scene. There is no official description yet.

The two children were sent to Riley Hospital for Children and IU Health as a precaution. Officers said they were  conscious. The man, who is a relative to the children was not sent to the hospital.

This is a developing story. Check back at WISHTV.com for updates.
