Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A traffic stop lead to a drug arrest of one man.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, a 2006 Nissan was spotted changing lanes without using a signal on I-70 westbound near mile marker 90 on May 18.

Officers then pulled the vehicle over and it was during the course of the stop officers smelled what was thought to be marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Further investigation of the Nissan  driven by 27-year-old Fabian Vargas of Momence, Illinois resulted in almost 100 pounds of marijuana, worth an estimated $200,000.

Vargas was then taken into custody and now faces preliminary faces of dealing in and possession of marijuana.
