Man arrested with meth lab in vehicle

KNIGHTSTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – One man was arrested in Henry County with a meth lab in his vehicle.

38-year-old Michael Cunningham’s arrest was the result of an ongoing investigation into the manufacture of methamphetamine.

According to Indiana State Police, a search warrant was obtained for a home in the 300 block of East Main Street in Knightstown.

Police said that around 7:30 p.m. Thursday as they were approaching the house, Cunningham exited the house and then took off in a black Dodge pickup.  Officers then attempted to stop Cunningham, but he sped away at a high rate of speed, but did come to a stop after a short time.

When officers began searching Cunningham’s vehicle, an active one pot meth lab fell out of the vehicle.  Later a a second one pot lab was discovered as well as chemicals commonly used to make meth inside the vehicle.

Cunningham faces preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, possession of meth, manufacturing methamphetamine, as well as several others.  Police also said Cunningham was also wanted out of Hancock County on a warrant for domestic battery.
