Victim killed in midday shooting ID’d

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) The Allen County Coroner’s Office has identified a man who was shot Sunday afternoon as Fort Wayne’s latest homicide victim.

According to Chief Investigator Michael Burris, 27-year-old Anquanh Parham died of a gunshot. Parham’s death was ruled a homicide, the twelfth in Allen County in 2016.

Parham was found in the 4400 block of Spatz Avenue by officers who were responding to reports of a shooting around 12:30 p.m. Fort Wayne Police Department Spokesman Michael Joyner said officers found him unresponsive outside in a yard. He was later pronounced dead at the scene.

Joyner said initially investigators blocked off the 4400 block of Spatz Avenue, but it was expanded to include the 4300 block after several shell casings were found in that area.

Joyner said there was no motive or suspect information available as of Monday morning.
