2 men charged in human trafficking case

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Two men arrested on accusations of human trafficking are now formally charged.

The 17 counts between Elyvin Jackson and Cornelius Thompson include promotion of human trafficking of a minor and promotion of prostitution, among other counts.

Court documents list four victims of Jackson and Thompson. One of them was a minor when she first met them. The other three were 18 or older.

The documents say the youngest victim met the men in February in Chicago, where they told her she could make money as a prostitute in Lafayette. She told authorities they provided her transportation to and from Chicago and posted advertisements promoting her online.

Jackson and Thompson were arrested one week ago, May 16, following a disturbance two days prior on Underwood Street in Lafayette, which turned out to involve the youngest victim.
