Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash
SULLIVAN COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) – A motorcyclist was after-lifted after a Tuesday afternoon crash in Sullivan County.
It happened just before 4:00 p.m. on County Road 3, about half a mile east of Carlisle.
Police say 36-year-old Marc Phegley from Carlisle was driving westbound when for an unknown reason, he left the road.
Phegley was ejected from his motorcycle.
Officials say after a few minutes, Phegley made his way to a house that was almost a quarter of a mile away.
During that time, a passing driver dialed 911 for help.
Phegley was airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis with severe, possibly life-threatening injuries.
Police say he was not wearing a helmet and alcohol does appear to be a factor.
According to police, charges may be filed at a later date.
