Indiana State Fair hiring more than 600 seasonal positions

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana State Fairground and Event Center is hiring more than 600 seasonal positions for this year’s State Fair.

According to a release, the eighth annual Indiana State Fair Job Fair will take place Wednesday, June 1 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The job fair is at the Farm Bureau Building.

Applicants ages 14 and up are encouraged to attend.

The line will start forming at 2 p.m. and everyone in line before 6 p.m. will be able to participate.

All applicants will have an equal opportunity to fill out an application and receive an initial interview onsite. A resume is not required but will be accepted.

“How many seasonal jobs get you into the State Fair every day, where people come to have fun,” asked Mark Anderson, Human Resources Director. “Many of the Fairgrounds’ 200 plus year round event, part-time and full-time employees began as seasonal employees working at the State Fair,” Anderson added.

The available positions include:

  • Ticket sellers
  • Gate supervisors
  • Security personnel
  • Parking attendants
  • Parking supervisors
  • Facility operations staff
  • Tractor shuttle staff
  • Information booth staff
  • Livestock staff
  • Educational exhibit staff

Depending on the department, a shift can be between six and 12 hours long.
