IPS approves redevelopment plan

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) –  Indianapolis Public Schools have approved a redevelopment plan involving the old Coke plant on Massachusetts Avenue.

The school district confirmed the plants on Twitter.

IPS said it will work city leaders to determine the next steps.

The proposed $260 million proposal includes retail apartments, condos, an daycare, boutique hotel and a parking garage.

Currently, the property is the service center for IPS.

The school system has been looking to sell the property since 2015.

IPS would get $12 million in the deal.
