Long airport lines could cost travel industry billions
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Long lines at security checkpoints at airports across the country could end up costing the traveling industry billions of dollars.
According to a survey from the U.S. Travel Association, one in five travelers are staying away due to the lines.
Nearly a quarter of the people surveyed said they would rather drive or would just stay home and not travel at all.
This could result in more than $4 billion dollars lost by the travel industry during the peak travel months in the summer.
Also, AT&T is looking to bring movies, TV shows, and cartoons to long trips using thanks to its recent acquisition of DIRECTV.
A timetable for the move has not been established.
