Cease Fire aims to strike back against violence

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A local group is trying to put an end to rampant violence in Indianapolis.

Cease Fire members gathered Saturday at 34th Street and Keystone Avenue to spread their message of love over hate.

They say they want people to realize nothing is solved with violence.

“We go to different neighborhoods, we give away free barbeque; just do protests and say ‘Cease fire.’ We love to hear the [car] honks,” Cease Fire member Ronald Frieson said.

And they heard a lot of car honks Saturday.

They say they’ll take their message all across the city.
