33 years later, watch Menudo’s epic tribute to the Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Did you know boy band Menudo once sang about the iconic Indianapolis 500?

In 1983, “Indianapolis” was included on the group’s “A Todo Rock” album. Originally released in Spanish, an English version could be found on the 1984 album “Reaching Out.”

The song lyrics include references to the “33 warriors in their chariots” going “out into the battlefield” to “take command of the wheel.”

Seemingly ahead of their time, the band’s dance moves were very similar to Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” with a dash of River Dance.
