4 injured, 3 in custody after downtown shooting

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Four people were injured and three others taken into custody after a shooting in downtown Indianapolis early Sunday morning.

Indianapolis police were called to the 300 block of South Meridian Street shortly after 3 a.m.

Two men were found shot inside the second floor of a parking garage. Shaquille Ford, 22, had been shot in the face and Demetrius Ford, 21, had a gunshot wound to the buttocks and a graze wound to the chest, according to IMPD.

Two other men were found shot in an alley just north of the parking garage. Marc Spivey, 29, had a wound to the lower arm and Breon Sims, 23, had been shot in the lower hand.

All four were taken to the hospital in stable condition.

After officers stopped a fleeing vehicle, six people were questioned. Three were taken into custody and the other three were released. The suspects were identified as 21-year-old Delon Owens, 23-year-old Dametrous Brooks and 25-year-old Rico Brown. They face preliminary charges of attempted murder.

The parking garage was closed until just after 9 a.m. Sunday.
