Six people, including two EMTs, transported after ambulance crash on west side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An ambulance transporting a patient was involved in a crash on the city’s west side Sunday morning.

Just before 7:30 a.m., an ambulance headed to Sidney & Lois Eskenazi Hospital was traveling eastbound on West Michigan Street when it was struck by a vehicle coming from North Tremont Street.

A total of six people were transported to local hospitals, including the original patient and his brother that was sitting with him, both EMTs in the ambulance and both people in the other vehicle.

Conditions were not provided.

The crash also resulted in a power pole being snapped.
