Warm and humid weather expected for 100th running of Indy 500

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – If you are heading out to the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500, get ready for warm temperatures and humid conditions.

We expect a mixture of sun and clouds for much of Sunday morning, but we should be dry as you are making your way to the track.

Temperatures will be hovering in the mid to upper 70s as you are heading into the track.

A weakening cold front will work in from the west near the start of the race, which could spark a few isolated thunderstorms.

Storm chances will quickly move to the east as we move through the early to mid afternoon. So we expect many dry hours, but grab the rain gear in the event that we run into a brief shower or storm.

Drier air will fill in by early evening, relaxing the higher humidity as we head into Memorial Day.
