TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – Tippecanoe County prosecutors have charged a Lafayette man with 17 counts after selling drugs to a confidential informant over a period of several months.

36-year-old Michael McCord Jr. was charged three counts of dealing methamphetamine, two counts of dealing a synthetic drug, one count of dealing a narcotic drug and several other counts for drug possession.

Court documents say the sales to the confidential informant happened between September 2015 and February 2016.

A search warrant served at McCord’s house on Feb. 2 turned up five guns, several bags of drugs and digital scales.

Investigators also said children, including an infant, had been at the house the morning the warrant was served.

In addition to drug charges, McCord faces counts of maintaining a common nuisance, operating a vehicle while suspended and being a habitual offender.
