Sunday morning church service interrupted by gunshots

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Just before 11 o’clock on Sunday morning, a church service at Charity Church was about to wrap up in the 2700 block of South Tibbs.

Suddenly gunshots penetrated the glass doors outside the church. Shattered glass collected on the carpet inside the church.

No one was injured. On the outside of  the church you could see where gunshots bounced off the stone wall.

According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), several stray shots hit a business, house, as well as the church.

Investigators don’t believe the church was targeted.

An image of a white sedan is caught on camera leaving the scene. Whoever pulled the trigger could have driven away in the car.

Despite the shooting the pastor of the church had a message for the shooter.

“I love to see the person who did this end up here someday (church), because there are all kinds of people in the church that hit rock bottom,” said Pastor Paul Slagle.
