Franklin man charged in January hit-and-run

FRANKLIN, Ind. (WISH) — A Franklin man has been charged in a hit-and-run case from January.

29-year-old Will Slinger faces three felony counts of leaving the scene of an accident with serious bodily injury.

Slinger has been accused of striking a vehicle driven by Grant Black into oncoming traffic. Black was hospitalized with bone fractures, lacerations and an injury to his spleen. The driver of the vehicle that struck Black’s from the opposite direction suffered head injuries and went into a coma. His wife was also injured in the crash.

Police were able to track down the owner of the vehicle, Slinger’s father, in April. He said Will has used the vehicle on Jan. 23, which is Will’s birthday.

Cell phone records led investigators to a woman that said she had been drinking with Slinger the night before the crash.
