Big accusation about faulty airbags, already millions of robocalls this year

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A big accusation about faulty airbags in America, and officials say there have been nearly 10 billion robocalls in this country so far this year.

According to a Senate Commerce Committee report, at least four automakers such a Toyota, Volkswagen, Fiat Chrysler and Mitsubishi continue to sell new vehicles with defective Takata airbags that will need to be recalled.

The report underscores the convoluted way in which the mass recalls of Takata airbags have unfolded, with new models still being fitted with defective airbags and, in some cases, recalled cars also receiving defective airbags.

In other business headlines, robocalls could be worse in Indianapolis. The city ranks 33rd in terms of number of calls so far in 2016.

Youmail released its National Robocall Index and found that number is actually down about five percent from last year.

Still, it estimates almost more than 17 million robocalls have been made locally this year.
