GREENWOOD (WISH) — The Center Grove Board of School Trustees will hold a community forum Thursday night to hear from citizens about their views on transgender policy for the school district.
“We want to assure parents that Center Grove strives to provide a safe, positive, caring, and nurturing environment for all of our students,” a statement on the district’s website said.
The forum comes just weeks after an Obama administration directive saying public schools must permit transgender students to use bathrooms and locker rooms consistent with their chosen gender identity.
The forum will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Center Grove High School Auditorium. People who wish to speak will be asked to sign in before the meeting and limit their remarks to under three minutes.
No policy changes will be decided or announced during the forum.
If you are unable to attend, but would like to provide feedback, you can email the Board at email@example.com.
