HUNTINGTON COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne driver is dead after his truck hit the back of a semi-truck near Andrews Wednesday afternoon. Emergency crews responded to the crash at 1:09 p.m. on US 24 West just west of State Road 105.
The semi driver was stopped on the highway because of a crash in the area that closed the road. Pickup driver, Kevin Seitz, failed to stop or slow down causing him to slam into the back of the tractor-trailer, according to the Huntington County Sheriff’s Department. Seitz’s vehicle went under the trailer before it stopped.
Seitz was pronounced dead at the scene due to trauma to his chest. The semi-truck driver wasn’t hurt.
Police are still investigating the crash.
