Police investigating crash in Bartholomew County

BARTHOLOMEW COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – Bartholomew police are investigating a traffic crash with injury that happened Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the crash happened in the area of 450 North and 425 East around 2:04 p.m.

A gray Honda Civic and a black Ford E250 van were involved in the collision.

The Honda, which had two 16-year-old females, didn’t stop at the stop sign southbound North 425 East while turning left to travel east on 450 North. That’s when they were struck by the Ford.

The Ford, driven by a 50-year-old male of Columbus, was traveling westbound and had the right away, which caused it to t-bone the Honda.

Police said the Ford ended up leaving the roadway and hit a nearby residence on the southwest corner of the intersection.

The female driver of the Honda was flown by Lifeline helicopter to Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis with serious face and head trauma.

The other female in the Honda was transported by a Columbus Regional ambulance to Methodist Hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the Ford was treated and released on scene.

Police are still investigating the crash.
