Police in Fort Wayne investigate critical shooting, car into house

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – Police are investigating a two-block long crime scene on Winter Street after a person was shot and a car ran into a house late Saturday night.

Neighbors in the 3100 and 3200 blocks of Winter St. called 911 around 11:00 p.m. Saturday after they heard multiple gun shots and a car crash into a house.

When officers got to the scene, they found bullet casings in the street and the car in the yard of the home. They found blood in the car, but no victims.

During the investigation, a male younger than 18 years old, was dropped off at a hospital with serious gunshot wounds. He was downgraded to critical condition at the hospital.

Police say they believe an argument in the 3100 block of Winter St. led to the shots being fired. They do not know what caused the car to drive into the house.

A small amount of damage was found near the front door of the house. Nobody was hurt in the home.

Police hope to get more information from the victim and do not have any suspect information.

If you know anything about the incident, you are asked to call the Fort Wayne Police Department at (260) 427-1222.
