New attack ad targets John Gregg

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — There’s a new attack ad on the air in the race for Indiana governor.

The Republican Governor’s Association is targeting Democratic candidate John Gregg in the commercial.

It replaces most of the positive Mike Pence ads on Indiana TV stations.

The new ads make use of stereotypical black and white images of Gregg meant to portray him as unacceptable to Hoosier voters.

The Gregg campaign responded with a most positive ad that includes a testimonial from state legislator and Republican Katherine Willing.

A spokesman for the Pence campaign says the governor appreciates support from the governor’s association.

The early attack ad is an indication that Republicans believe Pence is vulnerable.
