Man charged with arson after confessing to bus fire

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A Lafayette man faces criminal charges after he admits to setting a bus on fire.

Thirty-four-year-old Jason Cull has been charged with arson and criminal mischief.

In May, firefighters were called to Imperial Travel on South 30th Street in Lafayette. A bus, that was being used for storage, was on fire.

During the investigation, Cull was identified as a suspect. He admitted to starting two fires by lighting pieces of paper and pushing them through the bus windows. He said the first fire was small and he put it out. The second, however, caused a seat to catch fire.

The damage was estimated at about $10,000.
