Mom’s drug bust of daughter backfires hilariously

TARRANT COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) – A Texas mom is learning a little lesson in trust after what she thought were drugs turned out to be something way different.

On Friday, 16-year-old Ashley Banks posted the hilarious exchange she had with her mom on Twitter.

Turns out Ashley had a little baggie of colorful pills in the house. Mom thought they were drugs and got a little upset. She started chastising Ashley via cell phone.

“Come home right now,” she texted. “You’re grounded.”

Ashley knew she had her mom and decided to use the situation as a teachable moment. “Go put them in water,” she responded back.

Yeah, the ‘drugs’ were those little toy sponges in disposable capsules, dinosaur variety.

“Nevermind, you don’t have to come home,” Ashley’s mom said. You can’t blame her for being concerned.

Ashley just laughed, then decided to get some viral fame out of the situation. Her post has been re-tweeted more than 30,000 times.
