Puppy rescued from Florida septic drain

FORT PIERCE, Fla. (WFLA) – Deputies serving paperwork to a Fort Pierce homeowner ended up rescuing a puppy from a septic drain.

In a post on the St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office Facebook page, the agency said “As they [deputies] left the house, they heard the distinct sound of a dog whimpering.”

Deputies followed the sound and located the scared and exhausted puppy trapped in a collapsed septic tank on a nearby vacant lot.

“They rescued the puppy, gave him several baths,” the post said.

Deputies attempted to locate the puppy’s owner in the neighborhood but they were unable to find anyone missing the cute pup.

The deputy who rescued the pooch has reportedly has adopted him.
