Bloomington teen dies after crash

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) – A Bloomington teen has died after a crash near the intersection of South Harmony Road and West May Road.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, police were sent to the crash and upon arrival the driver, Jordan Sherfield, 19, was laying in the road and being treated by other emergency personnel. Markings in the road declared Sherfield lost control of the vehicle and the vehicle rolled at least one time before coming on all four tires.

Police said Sherfield was ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing a seatbelt. He was transported to IU Health Bloomington Hospital due to his injuries. He was listed in critical condition until approximately 11 a.m. on Tuesday, when he was pronounced dead.
