TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WTHI) – An FBI investigation into the Vigo County School Corporation brings not only confusion, but many unanswered questions.
Agents could be seen at the Vigo County School Corporation headquarters on Wabash Avenue, as well as McLean High School and the corporation’s transportation building.
Wednesday afternoon, Jacob Schalburg was among a group of others looking to get inside Terre Haute North Vigo High School. Schalburg planned on going to GED class, but instead arrived to locked doors.
“It’s just all locked down, shut down, they’re not having it,” he said.
That’s because the Vigo County School Corporation Board of Trustees arrived hours before. A meeting agenda was found taped to the door of the main entrance, inside the board held an executive session, which started at 4 p.m.
News 10 camped out all afternoon to try to get a comment or statement from board members. Board member, Alpa Patel, declined to comment saying she had been advised not to speak on the matter.
News 10 later found Attorney Joe Etling on the way to his car. He confirmed that summer school and GED classes will resume as normal.
