ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque man who wanted some peace and quiet is now in big trouble.
Police arrested 36-year-old Reuben Cook after a fire at his apartment near Osuna and Academy.
According to the criminal complaint, Cook admitted to starting the fire because his neighbors were having sex and making too much noise. He then decided he would rather go to prison and “get away from the noise,” according to the complaint.
Cook told officers he started the fire with a lighter, which they found in his pocket.
On Tuesday, Cook was released on his own recognizance. He is currently facing charges for arson.
