Study: Your pet fish may recognize your face

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A new study says your pet fish may recognize your face.

According to the journal “Scientific Reports,” fish can integrate more complex information than scientists thought.

Researchers studied the archerfish and said it can tell a familiar human face from dozens of new faces.

The report said the archerfish were chosen because they have the ability to target images. They can spit water from their mouths to knock down insects nearby.CNN contributed to this report.
