Bloomington police investigating indecent exposure cases

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (WISH) — The Bloomington Police Department has released a composite sketch of a suspect in a series of indecent exposure cases.

BPD said six incidents have been reported in the last two weeks. Police said the incidents mostly happened during the day between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. in the area north of 11th Street, south of 16th Street, east of Walnut Street and west of Dunn Street. The area is just west of the IU campus where several students live. Police said the man has been watching and following women while masturbating.

Police describe the suspect as a white male between 5’10” and 6′ tall with a medium build and light brown hair.

“I can’t say I’ve ever seen him before,” said IU student Daniel Combs as he looked at the sketch.

But that doesn’t mean the suspect hasn’t seen him or his girlfriend Madison Evans.

“My mom would definitely, almost probably be like ‘don’t go outside. Stay at his house. Just don’t go out in your neighborhood at all’,” Evans said.

“It’s just disgusting and shouldn’t be happening at all,” added Combs.

Police said one of the reports came from Brownstone Terrace Apartments. IU student Meghan Gulvas lives there and couldn’t believe the suspect was seen nearby.

“All my friends have been pretty good with making sure we’re never walking alone, but I never have talked about that in the daylight,” Gulvas said after learning that police said the crimes happened during the day.

Police have increased patrol in the area as a result. Anyone with information on this case can call BPD at 812-339-4477.
