Fishers police: Man flees after threatening to shoot woman at Wal-Mart

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) — Fishers police are looking for a man who reportedly threatened to shoot a woman during an attempted robbery at Wal-Mart.

Officers were called to the Wal-Mart store at 96th Street and Kincaid Drive Tuesday morning.

A woman told police she was walking to her car when a man approached. He said he would shoot her if she didn’t hand over her purse, according to Fishers police.

She refused to give up the purse and the suspect ran away. Police searched the area but were unable to track down the man.

He was wearing khaki cargo shorts and a black shirt with a large white logo on the back. Witnesses told police he sped way in a white car, possibly a Pontiac Grand Prix. He’s described as a white man in his mid to late 20s.

No one was injured.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call Detective David Finn at 317-595-3341.
