Indy Urban League’s Equal Opportunity Day

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A fundraiser for the Indianapolis Urban League happened Tuesday afternoon.

Companies, organizations and people who promote labor equal opportunity attended The Equal Opportunity Day Luncheon at the Indiana Convention Center.

Labor Economist and Author, Dr. Julianne Malveaux was the keynote speaker at the event.

Those who attended also participated in the Professional Development Workshop Tuesday morning, focusing on diversity in the workplace.

“For the Urban League Diversity, it’s extremely important to be in a workplace classroom or in a society in general. So for us we are all about bringing people together, bridging divides,” Tony Mason, President for the Indianapolis Urban League said.

The luncheon supports the many programs aiming to help minorities achieve social and economic empowerment.
