CarmelFest organizers seek swim team members past and present

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — CarmelFest organizers are searching for members of the Carmel Girls Swim Team from the past thirty years.

The grand marshals of the parade will be the championship swim team and the organizers want team members from 1986 to 2016 to participate.

“We never had anything like recognition or anything, so amongst ourselves we celebrated it, which was great, so I just think it’s an awesome opportunity for all those swimmers out there,” said Maegen Fleck, a member of the team from 1996 to 2000 who will be participating in the parade.

“I know that our team wouldn’t be here without all the people before us and so every person counts,” said Grace Pangburn, a sophomore on the team.This year the team set a national record when they won their 30th straight state title.
