Rainbow appears over vigil for Pulse victims

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) – A rainbow appeared over the vigil for the victims of the Pulse massacre in downtown Orlando.

Tens of thousands of people turned out for an evening vigil commemorating the victims of the Pulse nightclub shooting.

The Lake Eola Park was filled with people holding white flowers, American flags and candles. During the vigil a rainbow appeared above the crowd.

People cheered, pointed and took photos of the rainbow over Lake Eola Park Sunday evening.

Organizers estimate 50,000 people were at the vigil.

One of those people attending, Traci Hines-McKenzie, says the timing of the rainbow was perfect.

Forty-nine people were slain and 53 were injured during the massacre at Pulse. The gunman, Omar Mateen, was killed in a shootout with police.
