82-year-old drowns in Lake Shafer
WHITE COUNTY (WLFI) – Edwin Franklin, an 82-year-old from McKinley Drive in White County, has reportedly drowned Monday morning.
According to DNR officials, Edwin took his canoe out into Lake Shafer around 11:00 A.M. Monday morning to retrieve an item in the lake. He dropped his oar and fell into the water while trying to retrieve it.
Neighbors entered the lake to get him out. When he was pulled ashore he was unresponsive.
