CLEVELAND, OH (WISH) – Some are calling it a possible breakthrough in breast cancer research.
According to a study published in the Journal Nature Medicine, researchers said the drug, denosumab, which is currently used to treat osteoporosis, could help prevent breast cancer in high-risk women.
During an experiment, scientists found the drug was able to prevent tumor growth in mice.
Researchers said they are planning to conduct clinical trials, but they could take up to ten years to see stable results.
